An interesting write-up from the World Health Organization that I’ll paraphrase here:
It would seem logical that if Americans spend the most on health care and have the most educated doctors in the world… the U.S. would be the healthiest country in the world. However, according to the world health organization in 2000, the U.S. ranked #1 in cost, #72 in population health, and #37 health care delivery (how many people have access to health care)
If you aren’t doing it already, it’s really important to take control of your own health and, if needed, look outside main stream healthcare.
Do your own homework before you visit your doctors and look for complementary health care. Main stream medicine can be great, but never be afraid to find out if there is more you can do.
